I stumbled on this page from Web Pages that Suck - by Vincent Flanders.
It reads…

Flash is a tool and like any tool it can be misused if it’s used incorrectly. If you’re cutting down a tree for firewood, a chainsaw is a good tool for the job. If you’re trying to taper the leg of a table, a chainsaw is not the right woodworking tool.
Designers — like woodworkers — often make two fundamental mistakes. They confuse: (more…)

From time to time, I like to share with you some websites I feel have not been constructed properly, by either displaying far too many images, animated gifs, flash, high contrast colours, poor text etc.
The reason for displaying such examples is to hopefully show people what to avoid when designing your own website.
The first time i submitted an example I personally thought was a good example of a poor website, some people didn’t seem to agree with me. Which is fine as everyone is entitled to their own opinion, however… and I stress HOWEVER… (more…)

Get your website graded. I think this site is convenient quick and very helpful for those of you who need something simple to understand.
Website Grader is a free SEO tool that measures the marketing effectiveness of a website. We had our website graded for testing purposes and alas! we’re 97 out of 100. Not bad considering the fact that we were told we had too many images on our website.
“ohh… I daren’t think why?”

The new Microsoft search engine - Bing - localised for the UK
The software giant Microsoft has announced that it is relaunching its internet search engine with a new name and a new look, in a bid to take on Google.
The new Microsoft search engine, called Bing, goes live in stages between Friday and June 3. It will, Microsoft claims, offer users a more refined search experience capable of satisfying queries more quickly than any rival search engine.
At launch, the new service will have a strong American bias, with a UK version “soft-launching” as a Beta test version. A 60-strong London-based team will work on improving the localisation of search results for the UK, with a view to a full launch in around six months.

If you’re looking for a free Keyword tool, there are so many options out there.
one of them is to use the Google Adwords keyword suggestion tool.

Google Adwords: Keyword Tool
Click here to go directly to the site.
I found it useful and it saves me a lot of time and resource.
Its completely free!
You can also select to include synonyms in the results or even filter your results.
I will be adding another approach to this in a later post which is a little more manual as I believe you should use more than one tool to get maximum results.
Enjoy!

Stan Schroeder writes an article on Mashable, so I thought to share it here:
Do you remember how, a couple of years ago, you could tell someone who was clueless about computers to simply switch from Internet Explorer (
) to Firefox (
), and that action alone would fix 90% of all their security problems?
This hasn’t been true for a while now, unfortunately. The fact that Internet Explorer is still the most widely used browser out there, which makes it the biggest target, doesn’t mean that malicious hackers aren’t exploiting security vulnerabilities on other browser platforms. (more…)
