Is There Such a Thing as a Safe Web Browser?

Stan Schroeder writes an article on Mashable, so I thought to share it here:

Do you remember how, a couple of years ago, you could tell someone who was clueless about computers to simply switch from Internet Explorer (Internet Explorer reviews) to Firefox (Firefox reviews), and that action alone would fix 90% of all their security problems?

This hasn’t been true for a while now, unfortunately. The fact that Internet Explorer is still the most widely used browser out there, which makes it the biggest target, doesn’t mean that malicious hackers aren’t exploiting security vulnerabilities on other browser platforms. (more…)

The first and foremost answer is: To establish a presence. Close to 500 million people world-wide have access to the World Wide Web. No matter what your business is you can’t ignore 500 million people. Even if you just conduct business within your community, you want to let people in that community know that you are interested in serving them in any way possible. If you don’t, your competitors will.
